On Saturday it was back up to Acorn and I drew number 25, which is a decent silvers peg on the far side by the concrete bridge. Nick was virtually opposite on 31 while next door I had Shaun F to my right and Dan D was on 27.

I set up rigs to fish across, a couple of lines at 11.5 metres plus a top four swim and on the whistle I fed all my lines before starting by the island pinging a few maggots. Two decent ide in two chucks had me thinking it was solid but then I pulled out of one and when I lost another not long after, the swim died. Dan on my left was catching well in open water and Kev Perry over on 29 had landed a big tench and some ide. I had a look on my left hand 11.5 metre line and caught a few ide but was having to wait for bites.
Swapping between that line and the island I was getting odd ide but the top four swim I’d been feeding from the start was a complete flop and I never had a fish there. Towards the end, Nick started catching ide well and I didn’t think there was much between him, Kev and me although I was sure we were all behind Dan. At the all out I ended up with 4 carp and 31 ide. As the scales reached us, Nick weighed 12lb 11oz of silvers and then Kev had 17lb 3oz before Dan weighed an excellent 22lb 3oz. I was next and knew I didn’t have that, my carp went 19lb 12oz and my silvers weighed 15lb 14oz.
Back at the results and Foxy was top on the day with 129lb 8oz from peg 12 followed by Mark P with 100lb 8oz and Tony W with 83lb 4oz.
