Saturday silvers on Sellicks and I drew 16 yet again, it used to be my favourite peg but as I can’t seem to catch much on it anymore, it’s now teetering on slipping down the rankings! When I got there and started setting up there were quite a few roach topping so hopefully a few bites would be on the agenda today.

A familiar view!
We got underway and I fed all my lines before starting short, it took 20 mins to get a bite and I had a couple of little tench and a roach but it was already looking like being a bit of a struggle. Hour two was similar and I only added a couple of fish and rather worryingly, I was hooking quite a few carp.
13 metres resulted in no bites so I put another section on and had a roach first put in which was encouraging but then I had one come off and all I could hook was carp. With around an hour to go, I got the 16 metre section out but it didn’t really improve things and I only managed a decent roach along with a 8oz hybrid and I only finished up with 13 fish.
Spud on peg 3 weighed 4lb 14oz, Nick chucked back and then Dan T went into the lead with some decent skimmers and a lovely perch for 9lb 9oz. Rog C on 13 had 5oz, my fish went 5lb 11oz, Bill ‘The Paste’ on 18 had 2lb 2oz and then Alex pipped me for second with 6lb 5oz.

Dan T had the top weight with 9lb 9oz which included a cracking perch
1 – Dan Taggart (Summerhayes) – 9lb 9oz
2 – Alex Kerr (Summerhayes) – 6lb 5oz

£2 each from Nick P and me saw the Nugget-O-Meter climb to £382.
