Revels Fishery – Open – 26th May 2026

I took a day’s leave to extend the long weekend and have another trip down to Revels although it was looking like we were in for another uncomfortably hot day. 18 anglers fishing today and after Dean had done me proud with great silvers pegs on my last three visits, surely it couldn’t be fourth time lucky! Parker ‘The Pole’ got 53 on Dead Tree and then it was my turn and 49 on the same lake was pulled out for me, I couldn’t have wished for a better swim!

It looked lovely and as I was setting up there were lots of silvers topping and I was looking forward to this. For company I had Steve C on my left, Jon Bass was on 48 and Andy Miller was over on 41. The whistle went and as I was feeding my lines, Jon had a perch first chuck on the whip. Kicking off on the top four I started catching small perch and roach along with a 6oz skimmer.

After two hours I was up to 52 fish including a decent skimmer of a pound although I did have a bigger one leap out the water and come off! It began to fade on my short line so I went out to 11.5 metres where I’d been pinging maggots and was expecting it to be good but it took a while to get my first bite. I was getting roach and odd little skimmers but Andy was regularly netting some decent fish and putting together a good weight.

Highlight of the day for me was when I heard Jon say ‘Who turned the lights out?’ and when I looked round, his brolly had collapsed around his ears, still makes me chuckle now! Swapping between the two longer lines, my catch rate was ticking over but annoyingly I pulled out of a couple of nice roach and several small skimmers. At the all out I’d ended up with 89 fish plus a crucian and a tiny little carp.

Andy was first to weighed and had a cracking net of quality silvers for 13lb 3oz, Jon had 4lb 6oz and then my fish went 10lb, Steve Crowford chucked back and ‘The Pole’ had 5lb 10oz of silvers. Back at the results and Rich Chave was the best silvers on Main with 5lb 9oz from peg 16 and Jamie B had the top overall weight with 25lb 10oz from peg 14. Photos courtesy of Revels*
