Chriss Pond 31st August 2008

Chris Haines Pond – 31st August 2008

After no fishing last week I was well up for this one, I’d seen Chris’s pond once before and it looked lovely with loads of features and mixed stock. Picky collected me at 7:30 and we met up with Les and the rest to travel up in convoy. We made good time and got there in an hour to be met by

Andy Evesham Vauxhall 2008

Evesham Festival – 23rd/24th August 2008

Me and my mate Andy went to the Shakespeare festival in Evesham once again and it was excellent as ever. On the Saturday we watched the fishing for a bit before going to the pub and eventually getting to bed around 11:30. Tried Guinness Red for the first time, very nice. Sunday saw us hungover and back by the river, watched Samantha

Chris2 Chard Resi 17th Aug 2008

Chard Reservoir – 17th August 2008

Conditions were perfect for today with a good blow on the resi and the resident bream would hopefully put in an appearance. I just needed to draw a peg in the forties, I stuck my hand in the bucket and pulled out peg 45, that’ll do! After the the mammoth walk I reached my peg and sat down for a much needed

Dillington Pond – JMA Summer League – 10th August 2008

After a bad couple of weeks I was hoping to put things right today, conditions looked good and after some heavy rain the pond had some colour in it. With it being overcast as well all the signs pointed to the pond fishing well. Eleven anglers awaited the draw and when I pulled out peg 14 I wasn’t too disappointed. When I

Chard Reservoir – 3rd August 2008

After my last disaster on ‘the resi’ I was keen to get back and plunder the resident bream population, I really wanted to draw in the forties but of course drew peg 37. Apparently the roach have started to show with a vengeance and you need to make your mind up what to go for and stick with it because if you

Dillington Pond – JMA Summer League – 27th July 2008

I got to the draw and it already looked like being a blisteringly hot day. There were 11 anglers fishing and I was hoping for a good result as I’m currently jointly leading the league with Martin Heard. I drew peg 2 which is on a point, I’ve drawn it before and not done very well and Martin had struggled off it

Woggy Canal

Ilminster Canal – 20th July 2008

With nothing on once again I organised another fiddle on the canal, this one was better attended with 10 anglers trying their luck. Unlike last time the canal was gin clear and the top few pegs had a nasty covering of scum on the surface. I drew peg 9, one of the pegs in the scum. It’s a consistent peg and picks

Dillington Pond – JMA Summer League – 13th July 2008

Round five arrived and the forecast was pretty good for this one and I was really up for it. I drew peg 18 which is next to the bush, it’s a good peg although the one the other side of the bush, peg 1, is even better. My peg has been throwing up odd chub but I’ve always felt these type of

Canal

Ilminster Canal – 5th July 2008

With there not being a lot on this weekend I organised a sweep on Ilminster Canal, six anglers turned up and the weather looked good although some rain was forecast. The canal looked good with lots of fish topping and we found six swims amongst the weed. I drew peg 2 with Robin Cox on the end peg and Ashley Tomkins on

Dillington Pond – JMA Summer League – 29th June 2008

Me and Andy went to Alan Dunn’s 40th barbie on Saturday night and as a consequence I was feeling really rough this morning. I got to the Crown for the draw and had one of Tommy’s excellent brekkies which went someway to sorting me out. There was another good turnout with 14 anglers fishing. The Yeovil muggers, Scott and Ashley turned up
