Summerhayes – Open – 29th August 2022

After a disappointing Bank Holiday weekend so far, I was hoping for better things today. The Breakfast Club assembled at Nicks for food which was lovely and as he wouldn’t accept any payment, the Nugget-O-Meter benefited by £10. On arriving at the fishery, I was a little surprised to see only ten booked in but I think there were several festivals on

Summerhayes – Open – 27th August 2022

A nice long Bank Holiday weekend can only mean one thing…. lots of fishing! First up was a Saturday match on Sellicks at Summerhayes. I met Nick P and Steve ‘The Pole’ at the bowling club for breakfast (thanks Drew) before heading to Bridgwater. There were nine booked in for this one which was slightly disappointing and then two of those didn’t

Summerhayes – Open – 31st July 2022

We were back on Sellicks for this one and it was almost a full house with 22 anglers booked in. Young Geoff was fishing again but thankfully after his bout of garlic poisoning last time, he’d left his special pellets behind. Pete got the draw underway and today’s golden peg was number 17 which is a decent silvers area. My name was

On Sunday it was back to Summerhayes for the match on Longs which I was looking forward to as I haven’t been for a few weeks, me, Rob, Nick and Jenny met in Taunton for brekkie before heading to Bridgwater. When we got there I was pleasantly surprised when Pete said the match was on Sellicks as I really enjoy fishing it

Summerhayes – Open – 2nd May 2022

For the Bank Holiday Monday we were at Summerhayes and the match was on Sellicks again, I met Nick and Terry for breakfast in Taunton and then it was on to Bridgwater. Another great turnout of 17 anglers including Adie Bishop who I haven’t seen for ages. All too soon it was time for the draw and as I’d booked in first

Summerhayes – Open – 15th April 2022

With it being Easter and a long weekend, I always try and fit a few matches in so would be at Summerhayes on Friday and Monday and Hebditch’s on the Sunday for a charity match which I was really looking forward to. I could have fished at Summerhayes on the Saturday as well but I just can’t do four days on the

Summerhayes – Open – 10th April 2022

It was back to Summerhayes for another match on Sellicks this week and after a frost with 20 anglers fishing, I felt it would fish hard like the last time we were here with around 60lb to win overall and 8lb to take the silvers. I met Nick in Taunton for breakfast before we headed to the fishery and very nice it

Summerhayes – Open – 27th March 2022

It was back to Summerhayes and this weeks match was on Sellicks. A few of us had breakfast at the bowling club first (thanks Drew) and then it was on to the fishery which was already starting to get busy with matches on both lakes. With 21 anglers booked in for our match and it being sunny, bright and the lake flat

Summerhayes – Open – 13th March 2022

With no Ilminster or Stoke matches this weekend, I booked into Summerhayes and Steve P, Nick and Jenny fancied it as well. Drew very kindly said he’d accommodate us for breakfast which was really nice of him. It was on Sellicks and the weather looked like being awful again, to make matters worse, the Tart had been in touch to say he

Summerhayes – Open – 10th October 2021

Summerhayes was the destination for this Sunday’s match and it was on Sellicks lake which I haven’t fished for ages. We met at the bowling club for breakfast and it was busy with anglers heading to Avalon for a Stoke match. I sat with The Grand Wizard and Mr Burns who were fresh back from France where they’d caught loads of big
