Revels Fishery – Open – 25th July 2023

I really enjoyed my last match at Revels a few weeks back and had been dying to get back so booked a few Tuesdays off work. After meeting Parker The Pole for breakfast we headed to the fishery. We were a little early and I thought we’d be the first ones there but the car park was already virtually full as there

River Parrett – Huntsman Cup – 23rd July 2023

After all the rain on Saturday, I was sure there was no way we’d be on the river the following day but I was assured there hadn’t been much rain down here and the Parrett would be fishable. The Breakfast Club assembled and were well looked after by Charlotte at the bowling club before we headed to Kingsbury. As we turned into

Acorn Fishery – Open – 22nd July 2023

I’ve only just caught up with last weekend’s reports and it’s time to start again with another trip up to Acorn for (hopefully) a nice day fishing for silvers. Of course as it’s the weekend, the forecast was pretty rubbish with lots of rain and strong winds on the agenda – great! Despite the weather, the match was a sell out with

Summerhayes – Open – 16th July 2023

Sunday we were back at Summerhayes with the weather due to be pants again and I hoped a nice brekkie at the bowling club wasn’t going to be the highlight of the day! There was a decent turnout of 17 brave souls prepared to face the weather and we were on Longs which has been a bit hit and miss for silvers

Acorn Fishery – Short Pole Match – 15th July 2023

I really enjoyed my first short pole match here a few weeks back so when I saw they had another coming up I booked straight on along with Nick and Andy S also said he fancied it. Of course as the weekend approached so did the crappy weather with strong winds and loads of rain, I expect nothing less anymore! I met

River Parrett – Novice Shield – 9th July 2023

Only the one match for me this weekend as I actually had a night out in Exeter with a mate and even though I don’t drink very much these days, I was hanging a little bit on Saturday. We were going to be at Kingsbury on Sunday and it’s a stretch I really like but it does suffer from weed problems which

Revels Fishery – Open – 4th July 2023

For my third match in four days I booked a day off work to go and fish the Tuesday open at Revels as I haven’t been for ages and was really looking forward to it. Due to my car issues, I thought my plans might be scuppered but Steve P came to my rescue and said he’d pick me up, star man!

Dillington – IAA Summer League 4 – 2nd July 2023

For round four, it was back to Dillington for me, the dominant pegs up to now have been 1, 2 and 23 but the pond is in the process of having a severe hair cut with the majority of the trees being removed so how this would affect the fishing would remain to be seen. The bush between pegs 1 and 2

Summerhayes – Silvers Open – 1st July 2023

I was looking forward to getting back on Sellicks for the latest silvers open but had car troubles in the week, thankfully Nick came to the rescue and picked me up in the morning – cheers buddy. After a not so great breakfast at The Obridge (they’ve gone back to having a buffet rather than cooked to order) we headed to Bridgy.
